LEAGUE INFO

TEAM AND LEAGUE STRUCTURE

  • Team Formation: Teams must have a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 12 players.

  • Registration Fee: A $90 registration fee per player is required to cover equipment, facility costs, and more.

  • Uniforms: At a minimum, teams must have matching color shirts.

  • Season Format: The league will feature a six-game regular season followed by playoffs.

  • Playoffs: The highest-seeded teams will match against the lowest-seeded teams and play until there is a champion. Single elimination.

  • Scheduling: Game schedules will be announced before the season starts. If possible, make-up games due to weather cancellations will be rescheduled.

  • Awards: Individual and team awards will be given at the end of the season.

  • League Discretion: The NBBA reserves the right to amend these rules at any time with fair notice to participants. In cases of unforeseen situations not covered by this rulebook, decisions will be made at the league commissioner’s discretion, aiming for fairness and sportsmanship.

GAME STRUCTURE

  • Games: Games will be 5 on 5, full court.

  • Periods: Games consist of four quarters. The first three quarters are 12 minutes each, while the final quarter follows the Elam Ending format.

  • Elam Ending: For the fourth quarter, the game clock will be turned off. Teams will be trying to reach the target score, which is determined by adding 15 points to the leading team’s score. The first team to reach or exceed the target score wins the game.

    • Example: If the score is 40-34 when the game clock shuts off, the target score becomes 55 (40 + 15). The first team to score 55 points wins.

Running Clock: The game clock runs continuously, except during timeouts.

  • Timeouts: Each team is entitled to two one-minute timeouts per game. The game clock stops during timeouts.

playing rules

  • Ball: A standard men's basketball will be used.

  • Traveling and Double Dribbling: Standard NBA rules apply for traveling and double-dribbling violations.

  • Fouls: There are no free throws awarded for fouls, but on any shooting, flagrant, or technical foul, the fouled team will gain one additional point and possession of the ball. The fouling player is recorded with a foul. For other non-shooting common fouls, the fouled team is awarded possession of the ball

  • Fouling Out: A player is ejected from the game upon reaching 5 fouls.

  • Substitutions: Players may be substituted during any stoppage in play, including fouls, official timeouts, and team timeouts.

  • All Other Rules: We follow all other NBA rules.

  • Referees: Games may be officiated by designated referees whose decisions are final. When a referee is present, they ensure the game is played according to the rules, making calls on fouls, violations, and game conduct.

Remember, this is a pickup league! The focus is on having fun, getting some exercise, and enjoying the game of basketball.

TEAM DETAILS

  • Rowe Station Roosters

    Manager: Josh Pritchard

The Roosters live and die by the three-ball. Managed by Josh Pritchard, this squad boasts an arsenal of long-range snipers who can light up the scoreboard from anywhere on the court. But will their reliance on the deep shot hold up against a well-rounded defense?

  • Mechanic Falls Moose

    Manager: Chris Morrison

The Moose are all about teamwork. Managed by Chris Morrison, this team thrives on sharing the ball and creating open looks for their teammates. Their unselfish style and versatility make them a true threat on both ends of the court.

  • Cobbs Bridge Coyotes

    Manager: Devon Plummer

The Coyotes aren't your average run-and-gun squad. Led by the strategic mind of Devon Plummer, these ballers rely on precision plays and a high basketball IQ to outsmart their opponents.

  • DEPOT ROAD DUCKS

    Manager: Sam Manley

Look out for the Ducks – they're a versatile and athletic bunch that can adapt to any situation on the court. With Sam Manley at the helm, this team is a force to be reckoned with thanks to their well-rounded skillset and explosive energy.
